We selected Big Brother, a novel by Lionel Shriver, that considers the challenge of obesity in America. Shriver's older brother died of complications from obesity. This story is inspired by his experience and it explores the social pressures, institutional interventions and how the challenges of obesity can change and animate the dynamics of family life.
